Kristaps Andersons

Kristaps Andersons (b. 1990, Latvia) is a Latvian sculptor whose work merges material precision with poetic reflection on nature, landscape, and human presence. Working with stone, concrete, metal, and ephemeral materials such as sand or ice, Andersons explores the thresholds between visible and hidden worlds, permanence and transience.
He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Sculpture from the Art Academy of Latvia (LMA), where he five years tought composition and sculpture. His practice bridges classical craftsmanship and conceptual experimentation — a dialogue between weight and lightness, body and void, memory and motion.
Recurring motifs in Andersons’ work — boats, vessels, and organic forms — act as metaphors for transformation and passage. His large-scale outdoor sculptures often engage directly with nature and public space, inviting contemplation on time, environment, and balance.
