The 2026 Siesta Key Crystal Classic brings together an incredible lineup of master sand sculptors from around the world, each bringing their own artistic style, creativity, and years of experience to Siesta Beach. But this isn’t just an exhibition. It’s a competition.

Over the course of the festival, these masters will transform mountains of sand into remarkable works of art as they compete for top honors and prizes. Their creations are evaluated by a professional panel of judges, while festivalgoers get to cast their own vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Remy Hoggard

Originally from the Netherlands, Remy Hoggard has been a professional sand artist since 1999. Over the years, she has become internationally recognized for her exceptional ability to sculpt lifelike human faces from sand—faces so realistic, they seem to come alive.

In 2003, Remy met her creative and life partner, Paul Hoggard—also known as her "Sandman." Together, they founded Sandartist Ltd., through which they organize sand art events and participate in international sand sculpture festivals, competitions, and professional commissions around the world.

Remy is especially known for her mastery of proportion and detail, particularly in the human form. Audiences across the globe have been captivated by her skill in transforming simple sand into expressive, temporary works of art.

For Remy, sand sculpture is not only a form of artistic expression—it is also an environmentally friendly art form that emphasizes impermanence and creativity using natural materials.
